I think if you are looking at Tasks for all clients (not just a single client) via the Tasks hub, then you have the option of selecting your settings (including the Range) and saving the settings as a Task View. I've tried to show where this is below:
You select your settings in the Search panel, then press the Save button.
To see the Tasks view, you use the dropdown arrow next to --Select a saved search-- then the same settings will automatically be applied.
As mentioned this is only available if you are looking at Tasks across multiple clients - I don't believe you can do the same thing for a single client account.
I've also just checked Preferences, and it looks like there are some settings you can change and save as your defaults, that would apply at entity (client) level:
Click on your name, then My Preferences near the top right of the screen to access.
