Want to go that extra step for new clients?
Consider the inclusion of driving directions (courtesy of Google Maps) from their home and/or office to your office for their first appointment.
The following video highlights how directions can be included as links on your next email and what the client sees:
To accomplish this, we've employed some standard syntax from Google Maps, and wrapped it into some logic which checks where the meeting is being held (if in the office it grabs the adviser's address details), and then checks what address details we have recorded for our client (it will only list directions if the respective Address Type exists).
You may have also noticed that the email also includes the option for the client to confirm their attendance by clicking on a supplied link (this feature was originally added to facilitate efficient management of Opt-in elections).
The following links provide the Xmerge code used in this example.
- Xmerge code which determines locations and driving instructions: Google directions
- The text (with the Map links) which will be placed in the body of your email template: Syntax to display driving directions (utilising links from Google Maps)
This idea behind this example was conceived from the following discussion: 'How to find Us' - including directions in appointment confirmation emails
